During the Ice Storm/Freeze which took place across the Oklahoma State in October 2020, 1000's of trees became burdened with ice- ultimately causing them to collapse under the weight of the ice. Many homes were crushed or penetrated by trees that collapsed onto 1000's of homes across the OKC area alone, ultimately creating a hole in the roof shingles and decking on this particular home. In addition to the 40+ year old tree falling onto the home, when the temperatures warmed up, ice melted - causing water to flow directly into the attic, then down into the walls and structure. Water is an extremely powerful force, and will follow the path of least resistance, in this case saturating the insulation, cabinets and surrounding drywall. Leading to a microbial growth. The ice storm was then followed by a deluge of rain, causing further damage inside the walls of the home.
